Why Shadu Labs?

I've been building software for a while now, but like many developers, I've kept most of my work private. Projects would start with excitement, get built in a flurry of late-night coding sessions, and then... sit quietly on my local machine or in private repos.

Shadu Labs is my commitment to change that.

This is a space where I'll:

  • Document projects I'm working on
  • Share technical learnings and insights
  • Build in public (wins, failures, and everything between)
  • Explore new technologies and frameworks

The Tech Stack

Speaking of technology, let's talk about what powers this site. I chose Wagtail CMS built on Django for a few key reasons:

Flexibility: Wagtail's StreamField feature gives me complete control over content structure. Each blog post and project page can have its own unique layout without fighting against rigid templates.

Developer-Friendly: As someone who lives in code editors, Wagtail feels natural. It's Python-based, well-documented, and the admin interface doesn't get in my way.

Future-Proof: I wanted a CMS that could grow with my needs. Whether I'm documenting a quick weekend project or building out complex case studies, Wagtail scales beautifully.

The frontend is Bootstrap 5 with a custom tech-aesthetic theme - dark mode by default (obviously), monospace fonts for that terminal feel, and syntax highlighting for code blocks. Because if you can't make code look good, what's the point?

What's Coming

I've got a pipeline of projects at various stages:

  • Web applications - Full-stack builds exploring modern frameworks
  • Developer tools - Utilities and scripts that scratch my own itches
  • Infrastructure projects - Because sometimes the best project is better deployment
  • Experiments - The weird stuff that doesn't fit in a box

I'm not promising a fixed posting schedule. Quality over arbitrary deadlines. But I am committing to documenting what I build and sharing what I learn.

Let's Connect

This isn't a one-way broadcast. I'm here to learn as much as share. If you're working on something interesting, have questions about my projects, or just want to talk tech - reach out.

Here's to building in public, shipping projects, and learning together.

Welcome to Shadu Labs.
